Andrew Richards

Managing Director
of the Sturm’s Group

Andrew began his working career in 1985 in the construction industry. In 2006, along with wife Fiona Richards, Glass Connecxions Pty Ltd was established and ran from a back shed for 3 years. In 2012, Sturms Mechanical Engineering WAS AQUIRED from a close friend John Sturm.

The well-known name ‘Sturms’ has been kept due to the impeccable reputation John had within the industry. John’s one wish for Sturms was to take the business to the next level, this has been achieved with the existing relationships we are nurturing, and new relationships being formed.

Sturms Structural Engineering was launched in 2018 in an adjacent factory along with creating a new arm of Glass Conecxions, Commercial Aluminum and Glass, which involves commercial aluminum and glass business, servicing all building requirements.

Andrew is a proud South Australian business owner, family man as well as a grateful member of South Australian Leaders.

Richard Bevan

Manager of Sturm’s
Mechanical Engineering

Richard Bevan is extremely experienced, having been in the industry for 36 years. He started his apprenticeship as an automotive welder and machinist in 1983. Following this, he worked in the automotive industry for 10 years where he became a Construction Manager.

As his knowledge grew, Richard moved into tier one building as the Operations Manager for 10 years. He was involved with various significant projects including the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Adelaide Oval. Richard is currently the Manager of Sturm’s Mechanical Engineering, a position he assumed in 2017.

As well as overseeing the business, Richard works on projects such as a gas pipeline for Darwin and the Mongolia/ Oyu Tolgoi underground project.

Jamie Eichler

Manager of Sturm’s
Structural Engineering

Jamie Eichler has over 15 years experience in the construction industry focusing on structural steel / metalwork for commercial industrial defense and the domestic market.

Jamie started his career as a trades assistant before becoming a qualified boilermaker welder. This trade background has been beneficial to Jamie in his rolls as a draftsman, estimator and project manager. He is currently the Manager of Sturm’s Structural Engineering.

Jamie has worked on a number of significant projects including Adelaide Oval, Adelaide Airport link and hotel, NRAH and many high-rise apartments and offices within Adelaide CBD.

George Mulvaney

Business Development Manager
and Manager of Commercial

George Mulvaney has been within the aluminum and glass industry for 45 years. He started his apprenticeship in Ireland as an aluminum fabricator in 1975.

George moved to Australia in 1983 where he very quickly established himself in management positions and has worked on many of Adelaide’s iconic buildings over the past 37 years. George has also had stints working in Malaysia, England and New Zealand.

George is currently the Business Development Manager of Glass ConecXions and in the past year has set up an aluminum and glass fabrication shop with a great team of fabricators and installers.
